On Tuesday evening we arrived near Kenora, Ontario at Abe and Hazel Dycks cottage. Wow! It is so beautiful there! We had the chance to go canoeing, hiking and fishing there. It was such a treat. We had a really refreshing time there with Mr. and Mrs. Dyck. Thank you again for inviting us there!Thursday morning we left for Winnipeg where we arrived at Judy Ford's place. She has been a paraplegic for almost 20 years and she has such a good attitude about it . Mom and Dad knew her from college and we met her after our concert in Winnipeg earlier on our tour and she invited our family to stay with her. She is an incredible lady. We had a BBQ supper at her place Thursday night.
Friday, our whole family went to the Winnipeg Zoo with Judy. It was very interesting to see so many animals. Apparently Winnipeg's Zoo is the second best zoo in Canada. We saw monkeys, siberian tiger, cheetah, couger, etc. etc. Lots of fun.
On the way back to her home, she drove us by Steve Bell's home. Judy saw that his garage door was open, so she stopped there where she introduced us to Steve Bell. I thought it was awesome to meet Mr. Bell. He is a fabulous musician that has won at least a couple Juno awards (Canadian Musician's Award) and I've loved his music ever since I was little. He is such an terrific humble and friendly guy. He ran into his home to give us a few of his CDs.
Tomorrow we head to Regina. And on Sunday we head home! That is really weird to think about right now.
Go Bless!
-Josiah
